What are common CrisisGo terms and definitions?
This glossary defines key terms and features used throughout CrisisGo and the Help Center, to help you better understand the terminology used across our platform and support materials.
| CrisisGo | Core Platform | A unified safety technology platform that connects public safety agencies and organizations on a single shared network for real-time intelligence and coordinated emergency response. |
| Safety iControl | Core Platform | CrisisGo's web-based administrative console used to configure system settings and monitor activity across CrisisGo products. Used by agencies to manage communities and connected organizations and by enterprise organizations to manage building connections. |
| CrisisGo Console/Workspace | Core Platform | The dedicated environment used by a customer organization to manage its CrisisGo products including users and buildings and message groups and safety configurations. |
| Organization | Core Platform | The overall customer settings and environment in the CrisisGo system including SOPs and Rosters and Emergency Contacts and Maps. |
| Building | Core Platform | A virtual representation of a physical facility such as a school or office or campus building within a customer's CrisisGo Organization. Buildings store maps and safety assets and incident information. |
| Safety Client | Core Platform | A web-based interface that allows staff users to access CrisisGo features such as alerts and messaging and building information without installing the mobile app. |
| Message Group | Communication & Response | A dedicated communication channel for a group of people to perform emergency communication and rapid response. Supports two-way multimedia communication and alerts and panics and check-ins and roster events. |
| Alert | Communication & Response | An organization-wide or school-wide notification with an audible tone used to warn the entire organization of a serious threat. Follows a top-to-bottom method of notification. |
| Panic | Communication & Response | An instant way for staff members to call for help from their safety team. Activating a panic sends the user's GPS location and alert directly to the safety team. |
| Check In | Communication & Response | An event triggered during an emergency or incident to check the safety status and survey all group managers and members in a message group. |
| Checklist | Communication & Response | Role-specific emergency instructions for any type of crisis based on your organization's emergency plan. Actionable items can be checked off and submitted for review. |
| Roster | Communication & Response | A tool displaying a list of students organized by grade and class allowing staff to mark safety status and access emergency contacts. |
| Reunification | Communication & Response | The process of releasing students back to their legal guardians during the recovery stage of a major incident. Uses roster data to track and move students through the validation process. |
| Controlled Release | Communication & Response | A sub-feature of Reunification that handles student dismissal and on-campus reunification. Supports emergency on-campus pickup via guardian QR code and daily school dismissal workflows including bus release and carline pickup and classroom pickup. |
| Safe2SpeakUp | Communication & Response | The student companion mobile application to CrisisGo Bully & Tips allowing students to report bullying or other incidents while preserving anonymity. |
| CrisisGo Connect | Connect & Community | A community safety platform that connects public safety agencies such as police and fire and EMS and 911/PSAP with organizations such as school districts on a single shared network for real-time intelligence and coordinated emergency response. |
| Agency | Connect & Community | A public safety organization such as a police department or fire department or EMS or 911/PSAP that uses CrisisGo Connect to communicate with and monitor connected organizations. |
| Community | Connect & Community | A network created and managed by a public safety agency that connects organizations within its jurisdiction. Members can share building maps and alerts and incident information based on configured sharing permissions. |
| Community Safety Network | Connect & Community | The connected network of schools and public safety agencies within a jurisdiction created and managed by a CrisisGo Agency Customer. Enables shared floor plan access and mass notification and emergency communication across all participating organizations. |
| Smart EOC | Connect & Community | A web-based incident management hub within CrisisGo Connect Premium that provides command staff with a unified view of live video and interactive floor plans and personnel status and inter-agency communications during an active incident. |
| Intelligent Map | Connect & Community | An interactive digital map of a building that includes floor plans and safety-related features such as rooms and entrances and key assets to support emergency planning and real-time response. |
| CRG Map | Connect & Community | A professionally produced tactical map designed specifically for first responders with standardized visual layouts and labeling. Schools using CRG maps are automatically synchronized to the Connect network when they accept an agency's invitation. |
| Alert Escalation | Connect & Community | The process of forwarding a critical alert generated by an organization to its connected public safety agency through CrisisGo Connect. |
| GateKeeper | Daily Operations | CrisisGo's visitor management solution that provides digital check-in and check-out with sex-offender screening so organizations always know who is on campus. |
| Safety Audit | Daily Operations | A digital tool for collecting and managing and reviewing safety data such as Emergency Operations Plans across schools to ensure compliance with policies and mandates. |
| Safety Intervention Manager | Daily Operations | A platform for handling incidents that require individualized response and documentation such as behavioral threat assessments. Allows administrators to record and track and manage intervention activities with built-in reporting capabilities. |
| APC (Assembly Point Coordinator) | Mustering & Roles | Staff members who install and use the CrisisGo app to report safety status on behalf of regular staff at the muster point during a muster event. APCs cannot start a muster event. |
| Targeted Mustering | Mustering & Roles | Notifying specific targets such as Work Areas or Departments or Roles instead of the entire site to alert only relevant people without disturbing others. |
| ECHO Wearable | Hardware & Devices | A staff panic badge that provides room-level alerting for staff without phones. Features TrueSignalâ„¢ false-alarm mitigation and BLE and LoRaWAN location tracking. |
| Cabinet Report | Reporting | An executive summary of an organization's safety data designed to share with key decision-makers. Provides visual data for safety activity and trends and drill compliance monitoring across the organization and each building. |
